Pink Ladies’ Sunset Coastal Walk 2009
Tuesday 21st April 2009, 10:00AM BST.
THE Pink Ladies’ Sunset Coastal Walk returns this year to raise funds for the breast cancer support group and Les Bourgs Hospice.
Again with the Guernsey Press as its media partner, the walk will take the same route along the coast at sunset on Saturday 20 June. The group hopes everyone will get involved to make the day as successful as the 2007 event proved to be.
As it did on that first occasion, the walk will end with a party in The Square in Town decorated in pink with live music and food.
There are two routes. The first starts at Grand Rocques at 6pm and is approximately 10.5 miles-long.
The second is 3.5 miles from Bordeaux at 8pm, which will be joined by those from the first walk to finish in Town.
The walk is being held in memory of Anne McMillan, who, with Doreen Le Poidevin and four others, founded the Pink Ladies in 2001.
Although Anne survived breast cancer, she later lost her battle with a very rare type of unrelated cancer last year. She died at her family home in the Vale on Monday 17 November.
As previously, the walk is ‘ladies only’. If you would like to participate click the following links to download the registration and sponsorship forms in PDF format:
