Jensen ahead of her time
Wednesday 22nd April 2009, 2:29PM BST.
KATHERINE JENSEN hit top form to win the Suffolk Junior squash Open, playing up an age-group.
Although just 13, she opted to play in the under-17 girls’ competition to gain more experience and she reached the final with two straight sets victories.
However, the final against 16-year-old Nayera El-Refee, from Cambridgeshire, was a lot tougher.
Jensen went two games down before fighting back to eventually win in five.
‘I was really pleased with how I played, especially with my serve,’ said Jensen (pictured).
‘I have been working hard with my coach Ben [Rosec] and am grateful for all his help.’
