ARCTIC explorers Steve Wright and Simon Elmont have finally made it on to the Greenland ice sheet.
The pair aimed to cross Greenland coast to coast but delays caused by bad weather have meant they will cross the ice sheet instead.
Yesterday the explorers wrote on their blog that although conditions were superb – sunny with no wind – deep powdered snow had made pulling their fully laden sledges hard.
In seven-and-a-half hours they managed to cover just 4.3 miles.
Today they set off early to make up as many miles as possible.
