Route Militaire residents want to raise awareness of plans to create an access road to the Saltpans development.

St Sampson’s deputy Jane Stephens was keen that people had a chance to make representations and fully understand the position.

A spokesman for the Environment Department said that representations would be considered until the application was determined.

This would not be immediately as ‘a number of consultation responses presently remain outstanding’.

‘The description of the application is brief but accurate.

‘The reference to Saltpans in the description refers to the name of the key industrial area, not the access position.’

A Long Port spokesman said that a detailed transport assessment has been submitted to the Environment Department as part of the planning in principle application, which deals with all of the transport related issues.

‘As part of our ongoing consultation process, we shall be and are consulting with neighbours and local residents to deal with any issues arising,’ he said.
