Sure confident that 3G parity is on the way

SURE has welcomed the news that it should be granted a 3G licence.
All three operators in the island would then have the same mobile phone standard, following a Office of Utility Regulation ruling.
The news, which was announced yesterday, means Cable & Wireless Guernsey will give up some of its 2G bandwidth.
‘We welcome the proposal by the OUR that, provided all operators agree to these specific proposals, we will be granted a 3G licence and will therefore be able to offer our consumers this service in the near future,’ said Cable & Wireless’s director of legal and regulatory affairs, Peter Stahelin.
‘As the operators agreed in relation to the launch of MNP [mobile number portability] in Jersey and Guernsey that Sure should have a 3G licence, we would not expect any issue to arise now.
‘We will be responding to the final points by 5 June as requested, anticipating a positive and proactive response from the OUR.
‘Since the introduction of mobile number portability last year, Sure has continued to focus its position as the leading mobile phone operator across the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man,’ he said.

I had to laugh at this…
“Since the introduction of mobile number portability last year, Sure has continued to focus its position as the leading mobile phone operator across the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man,’ he said.”
Aside form the fact the Isle of Man still has no number portability Sureoffer the shoddiest service I have ever had the misfortune to come across.
I have had a better signal in the vast open spaces of developing countries in Africa than I can get on either the Isle of Man or Jersey.
Customer-service should be re-branded customer-abuse! I have never been so patronised or insulted in all of my life dealing with Sure and I spent 5 years commuting with Easyjet five times a week!
Absolutely useless and I challenge anyone to prove me otherwise.
