Frankie: A body is found on a Cornish beach

Frankie ChapellA BODY discovered at Booby’s Bay, near Padstow, North Cornwall, on Saturday is thought to be that of former Guernsey resident Frankie Chappel, 17.

A member of the public called police to the bay at 8.40am.

A formal identification process will now be carried out.

Miss Chappel (pictured), a hairdressing student at Truro College, has been missing since the car she was travelling in was swept away in flash floods into a river near Zennor, about 50 miles away, nine days ago.

Miss Chappel was one of four people in the car and only one of them survived. The bodies of her brother, Ryan Martel, 26, and Luke Mackin, 20, have already been recovered.

  • 6 May – Devon and Cornwall Police have now confirmed that the body was that of Miss Chappel.
