STUDENTS from Le Rondin and Le Murier schools watched in amazement as a Sea King helicopter landed in their respective playing fields yesterday.
Pupils from both schools got to meet the crew, sit inside the aircraft and try out the equipment.
The helicopter dwarfed Le Rondin’s playing field when it landed there first.
Ben Hyett, 11, said it had been a great experience.
‘I like the blades, the pilots and the guns – it helps people when it is at sea and it lands on ships.’
Ben Mills, 11, said it was the first time he had seen a helicopter at his school.
Dettori King, 9, had the opportunity to try on a flight jacket.
‘The jacket was really heavy,’ he said.
