MAC GALLIENNE has done a U-turn and is, after all, the new coach of Rovers.
Weeks ago the former Rangers boss denied that he would become the main man at Port Soif, saying that he was too busy with work.
But yesterday he confirmed that he would be taking up the reins after the club assured him that he would just be looking after the footballing side of things and he would not be immersed in other time-consuming aspects of running a fooball club, which happened to him at Rangers.
He left the St Andrew’s club in January after turning their fortunes around after they faced the same situation Rovers are now in.
But having turned Rangers from no-hopers into a top-three side he stepped down as coach at the start of the season.
‘Basically, they asked me, simple as that – no other reasons,’ said Gallienne yesterday on why he took the Rovers job.
