We are Spinal Tap from Guernsey – you must be here for the laughs
Saturday 23rd May 2009, 2:00PM BST.
NICK CREED, Andy Fothergill and Mark Trenchard are paying homage to spoof rock band Spinal Tap.
On Sunday 7 June there will be what is believed to be the first public screening to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the mock rockumentary film, This is Spinal Tap.
It is just one in a handful of events on offer in this year’s Festival of Comedy, organised by Mr Creed and Mr Fothergill, which runs from Friday 5 to Saturday 13 June.
The week-long run also sees such attractions as an exclusive preview of the John Shuttleworth film Southern Softies, a chance for islanders to try their hand at stand-up comedy in an open-mic night, a comedy show for kids from aged seven upwards and to round off the festival three nights of top class stand-up comedy from visiting acts.
All the events take place in The Johnson Suite at Les Rocquettes Hotel.
