A SOFT but stoney beach meant a change of track for the final summer meeting on Chouet Beach.

This caused a number of punctures and rollovers, but no injuries to drivers or passengers.

As it was the last of the season, the driving was spirited at times and marshalls were kept busy rebuilding the track after each race.

With defending champ Ozzy Ozanne on holiday, a new name is on the summer season trophy.

Five points behind at the start of the meeting, Ian Robert was favourite to take the title.

He duly qualified for the race of firsts but had to give best to the V6 Audi of Simon Carre at the flag-fall.
