Woman assaulted in Candie

Tuesday 2nd June 2009, 2:29PM BST.

A WOMAN was assaulted in Candie Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The lone female was walking up the road in St Peter Port shortly after midnight when she was approached by a man.

They had a brief conversation before he assaulted her.

Police are not linking the incident to the serious sexual assault which took place in a pedestrian walkway leading from St Julian’s Avenue, next to the Ribshack, to Beauregard Lane in March.

The man is described as being in his late 20s to early 30s and of Mediterranean appearance.

He had short black hair which was curly at the front and shaped at the sides.

He was between 5ft 7in. and 5ft 10in. tall, well built and muscular.

The alleged attacker was wearing a white coloured round neck T-shirt with a square design on the front in a darker colour and combat trousers which were a light shade, possibly green.

  • Police are asking any witnesses or anyone who may have information about the incident to contact them on 725111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
