COBO have given Optimists’ players a second pasting in as many matches.
After the west coasters defeated Optimists-Rovers by 179 runs in the GCA Championship on Saturday, they took care of their great rivals by 94 runs in the Evening League at the KGV last night.
‘It’s always good from a Cobo point of view to get one over Optis,’ said Cobo’s captain Matt Oliver with a cheeky smile on his face.
‘It was another good win and we’re struggling for players at the moment with some of our big boys away, but it’s good to get to the younger lads in. It was a good team performance.’
Optis might have fancied their chances with Cobo missing their weekend captain and mainstay in the middle order Stuart Le Prevost as well as opening bowler Jamie Nussbaumer.
That feeling might have been enhanced when they dismissed Oliver, who had hit a mouth-watering 109 on Saturday, for just eight runs.
