ROUND three of the Summer karting Championship was packed with thrills and spills.

Constantly changing weather conditions played havoc for drivers and meant numerous tyre changes at the Thompson Motors-sponsored event.

The sun did show through for a short while, which almost dried the track, but the rain clouds soon appeared once again.

Heavy rain overnight resulted in the track being very wet for the opening heat of the cadet class.

Jerseyman Harry Torpy was on pole and went into an early lead followed by Brooklyn Brown, who unfortunately lost out on his good start by spinning off on lap two.

Angus Torode moved up into second but Cameron Robert collided with him giving Daniel Galpin the gap he needed to edge through into second.

Luck was on Galpin’s side when Torpy took a spin shortly after, allowing him into first place, which he kept until the flag.

Torpy regained time and finished in second closely followed by Torode.
