JonesBradburn officesOFFICE furniture manufacturers JonesBradburn yesterday closed down after 28 years serving the island.

Managing director David Jones and sales director Brian Redhead agreed to wind down the business to enable Mr Jones to retire and emigrate to New Zealand and Mr Redhead to move on to a new role that he declined to elaborate on.

The model steam train company owned by Mr Jones and operating in the same building on Braye Road industrial estate will continue as normal.

In total, six staff were employed by JonesBradburn.

Two staff members will keep their positions within the model steam engine company and, all other staff have been found positions with outside businesses.

Mr Redhead, who has worked for the company since its manufacturing plant moved to Guernsey from Liverpool in 1982, said: ‘It’s been a big part of my life and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.’

‘We’ve had a lot of phone calls from customers who are sad to see us go – we’ve always had a loyal following.

‘All existing orders will be fulfilled, delivered and installed.’
