Top-flight games at College Field

Thursday 25th June 2009, 2:30PM BST.

Darren OgierRANGERS will be playing their top-flight games at the College Field next season.

The club want to redevelop their own St Andrew’s pitch and plans are being drawn up, which are due to be submitted to the Environment Department shortly. Part of Rangers’ five-year plan is under way in a quest to improve the facilities both there and at Les Vauxbelets.

The use of the College Field will free up St Andrew’s, which this year will be improved due to the new irrigation system being implemented and a full-time groundsman being employed.

This will provide an improved surface for all other Rangers fixtures.

‘While we are looking to develop St Andrew’s in the future, we wanted our first team to play on a decent playing surface in the interim,’ said club president Darren Ogier (pictured).

‘The College Field has one of the finest playing surfaces in the island and we are looking forward to working with Elizabeth College this season.’

The College Field on King’s Road is convenient for the club’s St Andrew’s base and Rangers have had a long-standing connection with Elizabeth College.
