A MINIBUS parked at Sausmarez Manor overnight on Wednesday has had most of its windows smashed.

The 15-seater Renault Master bus, owned by Delta Taxis, was parked in the manor’s car park by its driver, who lives nearby, at 5pm on Wednesday.

When he returned at 8 the following morning all but one of its windows, windscreen and headlights had been smashed using a breeze-block.

‘It was parked out of the way in a corner. The majority of the drivers always take the minibuses home at night because they have an early start with the school run in the mornings,’ said David Willcocks, transport manager at Delta.

‘It has only been parked up there for a few nights.’

Day-to-day operations would not be affected, but if another vehicle were to be vandalised or broke down, the service would be severely disrupted.

The previous night a shop in the grounds of the manor was also broken into.

  • Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to phone police on 725111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
