Tardif’s Muratti dream lives on
Friday 26th June 2009, 2:30PM BST.
CHRIS TARDIF has said he would love to play in a Muratti.
The former Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Oxford United goalkeeper (pictured) makes his belated senior Guernsey debut at the Island Games in Aland which get under way tomorrow.
The Southampton-based 29-year-old has just signed for Maidenhead United, who play in the Blue Square South League.
Thirteen years ago, he moved away to sign for Portsmouth straight after his GCSEs. He has never played a Priaulx match, let alone a senior island game.
Tardif is very keen to take on Jersey but he has no plans to move his young family back to his home island.
‘I’d love to play one day, time dependant and if they want me in,’ he said.
‘But people who live in Guernsey have got to be picked. I’d jump at the chance.
‘Anything to get one over the crapauds but my job is going well and we’re settled over here.’
