NAUTY BOUY emerged with two class wins from last weekend’s Basic Powerboating Racing Series.

Ten sets of driver-navigator combinations took to the water and firstly it was Havelet’s calm waters and awesome views that hosted the opening race of the competition.

This race was tightly contested even up to the point where Extreme unluckily broke down just 250 metres from the chequered flag.

The honours for Saturday’s race was picked up by Nauty Bouy (Kevin Brehaut and Kevin Le Page) with newcomers Fast Air (Jacques and Pierre Vermeulen) coming in a close second.

Once the sea foam had settled all of the participants left the circuit with massive grins visible from under their visors and an air of anticipation for Sunday’s racing.

Held just off the east arm of North Beach organisers where blessed with perfect conditions for racing, demonstrated by the amazing height which some of the vessels reached during the race.

Sunday’s event saw boat bumbers 13 (BRB) and 30 (Nauty Bouy) round off a superb weekend of racing.

The good news for fans is that another is planned for the weekend 15-16 August.

Onshore, the Guernsey Powerboat Association’s next meeting will be held on 21 July at the Yacht Club and will see the election of a new committee.
