THE Institute of Chartered Accountants has started full-time training in Guernsey in one of the UK’s most prestigious and internationally recognised qualifications.

The ACA finance and business qualification is held by more than 132,000 professionals across the world, and for the first time will be offered full-time to all potential accountancy students locally through collaboration with BPP Professional Education from July.

It also means that students will no longer have to go to the UK for full training, as they have done up till now.

Robin Fieth, director of finance and operations at the ICAEW, said he was delighted to announce the partnership with BPP while he was in the island this week to meet with existing and potential students, as well as to deliver a lecture to existing ICAEW members and meet with accountants who have qualified under different bodies who may look to attain membership through the pathways scheme.

‘Their tutors know what it takes to succeed with our qualification and their experience will be invaluable to our students, from the moment they start to right up to the day of the exam.

‘Our qualification opens the door to a huge range of exciting career opportunities in every sector of business and finance, in the UK and internationally.’
