King of Pop has left his mark on Stephanie
Tuesday 7th July 2009, 2:29PM BST.

Stephanie Ozanne has had a tattoo in memory of Michael Jackson. She also has his brother, Tito Jackson's signature tattooed over where he signed it.
A LOCAL Michael Jackson fan has had a memorial tattoo to mark the life of her musical icon.
Stephanie Ozanne, 21, a trust administrator at HSBC, has had the self-styled King of Pop’s birth and death dates as well as his initials tattooed on her back. They sit above an existing tattoo of his eyes, which she had done when she was 16.
‘I had it done on my back because it is the place I would have wanted him to sign if I had ever met him. I would have had his signature tattooed over,’ said Miss Ozanne, who has Jackson’s brother, Tito’s, signature tattooed there.
She said that getting the memorial tattoo was equally important, as each is unique and tells a story.
‘Michael Jackson was and still is a huge part of my life that I always want to be reminded of as I am very proud to be a fan of his and will continue to be,’ she said.
Her tribute comes ahead of Jackson’s funeral today in Los Angeles.
A public memorial service is also being staged at the 20,000-seater Staples Centre in LA – the arena where he was rehearsing two days before his death on Thursday 25 June.
Out of the 1.6m. fans who registered for tickets for the event, 8,750 were selected at random to attend the service.
Tens of thousands more are expected to gather outside the centre and on the streets leading to the arena.
A private funeral will follow the ceremony and it is likely Jackson will be buried at Forest Lawn, in the Hollywood hills.
Miss Ozanne never imagined she would be getting a memorial tattoo for her idol so soon, but said it was her way of ‘celebrating his remarkable life’.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Although some may question her sanity, personally I accept that Miss Ozanne is completely within her rights to choose what to do with her body. After all, many people have tattoos of their favourite singer, football club or pet dog.
The truth is it’s none of my business what she does: which is precisely the point. This story is not in the Guernsey public interest and should never have been printed. It is barely worthy of a gutter tabloid.

PLP – So you are commenting on something that isn’t worth commenting on, seems like you have, in your opinion, the ideal qualifications to be the next editor of the GP then ;)

I was on the bus the other day and there was a man with a big swastika tattoo on his knee, and various other Nazi related daubs. His location and stance meant that the busful of tourists got a good absorbtion of Guernsey body art.
Well done!

Carts – Although I think you misunderstood the thrust of my comment (which wasn’t about this particular story but the regular printing of non-stories by the GP) I am grateful to you for your confidence in my editorial potential.
Perhaps I do have the necessary qualifications to take over as Editor and should apply?
One thing’s for certain, if I were to be appointed editor, pointless stories like this would be a thing of the past! :-)

Bingo-Jane
How did you know he was local? Did he speak patois with a Torteval accent?
I agree with Paul, a girl having a tattoo can hardly be classified as “news” or even “entertainment”.
What’s next?
“12 year old boy has hair cut short in preparation for the Autumn school term”…

To Bingo-Jane.
Swastikas were not originally a symbol created by the Nazis. Its an ancient symbol they took.
It’s a common tattoo and it actually symbolises peace (I think). I have a few friends who have swastika tattoos but trust me nothing to do with Nazis. Wait! They all have skindheads though…..hmmm.
I highly doubt the guy was a neo nazi if he’s local but ya never know!

To each their own I say,but I would prefer the swastika.and PLP is right in saying its a none story, who cares what stupid things people have done to their bodies.
