Watson wins Futures opener

HEATHER Watson was back in grass court action yesterday and winning.
The Guernsey tennis star played Aimee Gibson in the second qualifying round of the AEGON Pro-Series tournament in Felixstowe, Suffolk, which is her first ‘Futures’ competition on grass courts.
She won 6-4, 6-4 and now plays Britain’s Laura Slater in the next round.
The tournament features some formidable competition in UK number nine Naomi Broady and GB number 22 Olivia Smith.
