Les Beaucamps fund-raising

Thursday 16th July 2009, 2:29PM BST.

LES BEAUCAMPS students walked, cycled, sailed and swam in a day of charity activities they spent months organising.

On Tuesday, 11 groups from the school took part in activities including a sponsored walk, a kayaking race and even a tour of the coast on a six-person bike.

It was all part of the culmination of a citizenship GCSE course, undertaken by Year 10 pupils from the high school.

Students had been asked to come up with the charity ideas to understand the importance of being an active member of the community.

Last year, pupils on the course raised around £3,000 between them.
