Heather WatsonHEATHER WATSON marched into the semi-finals of the $10,000 Frinton Futures Championship with yet another easy victory yesterday.

The 17-year-old had few problems overcoming wild card Nicola George.

The Sarnian, who is number 12 in the world junior rankings, defeated her 16-year-old British opponent 6-2, 6-1.

She now meets number two seed Anna Smith for a place in the final.

But, unfortunately for Watson, she will not be featuring in the final of the doubles competition because she and her partner, Stephanie Cornish, lost their semi-final match with Anna Fitzpatrick and Emelyn Starr 2-6, 3-6 yesterday afternoon.tennis
