Mace up 175 points
Wednesday 22nd July 2009, 2:29PM BST.
WITH some faultless shooting over three ranges, Guernsey’s Nick Mace (pictured) has won the Stock Exchange Challenge Bowl at Bisley.
It is one of Bisley’s oldest trophies, first competed for in 1883.
Mace beat Nick Tremlett, of Windsor, by a single point with a perfect aggregate score of 175 ex 175 in the Times, the Daily Mail and the Wimbledon competitions at 300, 500, and 600 yards.
It is the second time in its 126-year history that the Stock Exchange has been won by a Guernseyman.
In 1919, Captain F. Noyon won the enormous trophy.
After the first stage of the St George’s Vase competition, Peter Jory still leads the entire Bisley field in the Grand Aggregate by a clear two points.
The Queen’s Prize, Prince of Wales and Conan Doyle competitions are still to be completed.
