MORE than 300 islanders danced the night away at a City Limits charity concert when the band teamed up on stage with Highly Strung and Hornified.
The semi-professionals teamed up with the 16-piece string orchestra and 10-piece horn ensemble.
Staged at Beau Sejour, the event celebrated the band’s 21st anniversary and raised about £1,000 for the Pink Ladies and Mind.
Organiser and Highly Strung director Nick Peters said it had been a success.
‘It really went well and we had a lot of ticket sales at the door. The dance floor was full and we got a fantastic reaction.
‘The couple of the slower tempo songs that went down really well were Handbags and Gladrags, with a perfect solo from Tom Livermore on oboe, Design for Life, which really showed off the strings, and Chasing Cars,’ he said.
‘During the second set we had 350 people singing Living on a Prayer back at us, which was awesome,’ he said.
‘The only complaint was that the dance floor wasn’t big enough. Our rehearsals paid off and everyone is desperate to do it again soon.’
