Mahy finally finds form on the greens

STEVE MAHY has not shot better than 71 all summer, but, on the eve of yesterday’s selection meeting to determine the Guernsey golf team to play Jersey, the L’Ancresse star produced two rabbits out of the hat.
His back-to-back two-under gross 68s ensured that he became one of the relatively few players to win both the Le Riche and Tradesmen’s Cups in the same year, one for best scratch, the other for best handicap.
And with victory Mahy will finally see his name engraved on the Le Riche Cup his father Roy had won six times.
