Rovers return does not have same buzz for Bisson
Wednesday 12th August 2009, 1:00PM BST.
VICTORY last night made it two in four days for Stuart Bisson, but it is plainly obvious which one he will remember for longer.
Following his heroics for Guernsey in the closing stages of Saturday’s inter-insular, the Rovers captain returned to club cricket at Port Soif yesterday – and it was a real come down.
Both the home side and their weekend stable-mates, Optimists, fielded weakened sides and both were forced into scraping together bowling attacks that included some distinctly average part-time stuff.
At the crease, however, Optimists’ stand-in skipper Andy Biggins was not complaining. He made a typically aggressive 85 not out as he carried his bat as the foundation of his side’s 132 for three from their 16 overs.
The left-hander hit eight fours before unleashing two maximums off Aaron Scoones in the final over.
