Sir Fabian takes a shot at being a Press photographer
Wednesday 12th August 2009, 2:00PM BST.
THE Guernsey Press took on a work experience student with a difference yesterday.
The Lt-Governor, Sir Fabian Malbon, spent the morning on the road with photographer Adrian Miller – and was even charged with snapping today’s front-page shot of his wife.
Lady Malbon released 15 white doves to launch the St Peter’s 2010 Britain in Bloom campaign, but had no idea her husband would be in charge of the camera.
‘The first I knew of it was when he phoned John, the chauffeur, and asked where we were. He said, “Take your time, we are running a bit late”,’ she said.
Sir Fabian said he did not feel under pressure as he lay on the grass to get the shot.
‘I don’t often have him lying down at my feet,’ joked Lady Malbon.
