A german pensioner was badly hurt after a cliff path fall in Sark yesterday.
Guernsey’s inshore rescue team was on a training exercise when it was called to Dixcart Bay to rescue the 68-year-old man who had fallen 10ft down steps onto the beach.
Joerg Hoffman, a German national with a home on the island, broke his leg in two places and suffered head and wrist injuries.
The crew transferred him to the Flying Christine marine ambulance and, at 5.15pm, he was transferred to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey.
