Clubhouse and Bowl are first CI buildings on Google Earth
Thursday 13th August 2009, 1:00PM BST.
TWO Guernsey buildings are the first in the Channel Islands to have been accepted and added to the 3D buildings layer of Google Earth.
The Guernsey Yacht Club clubhouse and the planned alterations to The Island Bowl have both been designed by architects Aslett Naftel, and are now the only local build projects that can be viewed in a 3D graphic illustration on the Google Earth software.
Google Earth, which is available for free download, acts as a virtual map showing close and detailed information on different aspects of the globe such as roads, traffic, weather and oceans.
Aslett Naftel director Gary Naftel said the company was excited to be the first in the Channel Islands to show off its designs on the software, but expected others to follow soon.
