The diver is placed in an ambulance. (0830730)
A DIVER who suffered the bends is in hospital today after spending five hours last night in the hyperbaric chamber at Ambulance and Rescue headquarters.
The man was brought ashore at Rousse yesterday by a local fishing vessel and transferred to a waiting ambulance.
A call was received at 2.41pm and an ambulance, paramedic, incident officer and inshore rescue boat were dispatched to the scene.
The area was busy and those enjoying the weather saw the man stretchered into the ambulance wearing a neck collar and on a spinal board as a precautionary measure.
