New tenant steps up for debt-ridden club and pub

ROGUES has a new tenant.
The nightclub, which was ordered to close by the Royal Court this week because it owes more than £16,000 in rent, will reopen later this year.
Adam Burroughs (pictured), formerly of Barbados, has confirmed that he will be taking on the lease of the nightclub and Claddagh bar.
Both are due to close on Monday because of the money owed to landlord Castle Properties Ltd.
Current proprietor of the business, Martin Rogan, said it was a relief as they were paying £3,000 a week – £156,000 a year – in rent.
Mr Burroughs verified last night that he would be taking over the premises to develop a new business.
‘The premises has become available and as the only purpose-built nightclub and bar in Guernsey, it is a great opportunity,’ he said.
Not all nightclubs have been affected by the economic downturn, according to Tony Le Marchant.
The Folies d’Amour general manager disagreed with Rogues proprietor Martin Rogan’s comments that all nightclubs were struggling.
‘As far as trade goes, we haven’t seen a downturn at all,’ he said.

Let’s hope it is a bit more upmarket than the current Barbados! Amazing that Rogues could not make ends meet despite letting lots of under 18′s in regularly! (Should have gone for the older punters – spend more money!)

Maggie agree 100% with you on the underage kids that went in to Rouges! I have not been in that club for over 2 years as it is so bad. As for the pub…. I worked there a few years ago (not long after it opened) it was a busy bar for a few months then went right down hill.
I also hope Adam does not turn the club into another Barbados, that is another one i cant wait to close its doors!
