A GUERNSEY finance company has marked its 21st year in business with a series of local sponsorship deals and charity fund-raising.
Richmond Fiduciary Group, which provides trust, company and pension services to a global client base, raised £3,900 for cancer charity CLIC Sargent at a staff party to celebrate its landmark birthday as well as agreeing two new deals to back Belgrave Wanderers and the Guernsey Rugby Club.
Alan Chick, who founded the firm in August 1988, said CLIC Sargent, a charity that cares for children and young people diagnosed with cancer, was selected because it had recently provided invaluable support to a member of Richmond’s staff.
The company is still locally owned by its resident directors and has seen significant growth in the past five years, with the number of staff rising to more than 30.
‘During the first 21 years of Richmond’s history, the directors concentrated on building a successful business,’ said Mr Chick. ‘Now that we have secured a solid foundation, on which we continue to build, the directors agreed that we should show our appreciation to our very loyal team of employees and professional advisers who have helped the development of the company.
‘I believe the 21st birthday celebrations achieved that objective and the family spirit we have developed at Richmond was reflected in the generosity shown when we decided that as well as enjoying ourselves at the evening, we raised money for a very deserving charity which had helped one of our own.’
In addition to becoming the new main sponsor of Bels, the company continues to support local netball and softball and its sponsorship of the Guernsey rugby side sees it provide post-match shirts for the team.
