ANN BOWDITCH impressed with her strong performances at the biggest cycling event in the world.

She competed in the 41st World Masters Cycling Championships held in St Johann, Austria, which attracts over 3,000 competitors.

Bowditch’s first event of the week was the time trial held over 20 km in blistering heat on a deceptively tough course.

The trend of the course was to descend for the first half with a challenging climb as riders approached the turn. Competitors would then turn back to reverse the route with a gradual climb over the final 8km.

The event was won by GB rider Sarah Storey with Bowditch placing 10th, completing the course in 30min. 14sec.
