St Martin’s Garden and Pet Centre shuts up shop for good

ST MARTIN’S Garden & Pet Centre closed yesterday for the last time.
The Blue Diamond Group-owned business has been integrated into Le Friquet Garden Centre, which is officially opened at noon today.
Store manager Dave Stuart said that he was sad to leave their St Martin’s base, but the future was bright.
‘I can’t tell you how supportive our St Martin’s customers have been,’ said Mr Stuart.
‘I’ll be enormously sad to leave, but this is a fantastic opportunity. We will lose some of that quaintness you get with a small store but hopefully we will bring that to our new base.’
The St Martin’s centre was bought by the group in 1988 and Mr Stuart has worked for it, on and off, for 20 years.
All 10 members of staff will also move to Le Friquet.
