GUERNSEY is welcoming some of the best bowlers from the British Isles this weekend at the 2009 Tenpin Adult Triple Crown Tournament.
Last year, the Guernsey Tenpin Association hosted the Senior Triple Crown at the Island Bowl. this is a test
But this year, the centre is holding the adult event and teams from England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Jersey will battle it out with the Guernsey side.
‘The one we did last year was the Senior Triple Crown for over-50s, but this is the open and these are the best bowlers,’ said secretary of the Guernsey Tenpin Bowling Association, Rick Lovell.
‘It’s open to the best bowlers and the younger bowlers are the better bowlers.’
All the countries are entering men’s teams and, apart from Scotland and Wales, they are putting forward women’s sides as well.
The event gets under way with the opening ceremony at 7pm today.
Tomorrow morning, the action gets going with the singles competitions.
Saturday sees the doubles and trios while the team event and masters take place on Sunday.
