PANTHERS and Thundercats opened their campaigns with convincing victories as the new look netball Super League got under way.
The teams have been mixed up with five now battling it out for the title and everyone is having to get used to new patterns of play, including several juniors who are being introduced to the competition.
Both Panthers and Zebras exposed their youngsters to the quicker senior game in their clash at Beau Sejour.
From the first whistle Panthers had the edge as they settled into their rhythm while Zebras’ young shooters suffered from nerves. Without the influential Anna Trump, who is out through injury, it was left to Leah Green and Sophie Griffiths to take up the mantle and both were dropping shots short.
At the other end, though, Sam Martin, who had the experience of Denise Bourgaize behind her, hardly dropped a shot.
