ST JACQUES scored a historic win against United Banks at the weekend.

It was the first time that the yellow and blacks have had an away victory over the Jersey side in more than 20 years.

They won 15-12 and their coach Chris Griffiths pointed out that having not won an away game in seven years until last season, they have now claimed four straight away victories.

He identified why there has been a change about in fortune.

‘The squad has gelled together for three years and we’ve now got a couple more decent players in the ranks as well,’ he said.

‘It’s also a winning mentality. When you start winning, you start believing that you can do things.’
