GUERNSEY boss Tony Vance has no concerns about the under-21s’ lack of goals.
The Greens overcame the Royal Naval Air Command by a solitary goal in a lacklustre match at the Track on Saturday, just as they did two days earlier under the Blanche Pierre Lane lights.
In six weeks time they face Jersey in the Ambassadeur Bowl but Vance is not worried about his side’s apparent lack of firepower.
‘Not really, no. Without Glyn Dyer and Matt Loaring being available, they are the door openers of the side,’ he said.
‘They’ll make a difference when they come back in. To be honest, these two games were about us trying to find out a bit about the players and what shape suits them.
‘On paper we are a very strong squad but we’ve certainly got a lot of work to do in the next six weeks.’
The first formation Vance used saw Nigel Hutton as a sole striker with Luke Winch and Billy Page given free rein behind him.
But it did not work as the larger RNAC side had the run of the play from the start.
