PERFECT conditions at the final round of the Summer Series sponsored by Island Access saw several lap records fall.
The racing was fast and exciting with four of the class championships still to be decided on the day.
The two main contenders for the cadet class were Angus Torode and Jersey lad Harry Torpy and from the second row of the grid the Sarnian chased hard and went into the lead on lap five to take the flag from second place Le Cras.
Torpy, who started near the back, picked his lines carefully to finish in third.
A collision in heat two between Daniel Galpin and Bradley Ford off the start line allowed Angus and Torpy on the second row to the front.
Torpy gained the advantage and took a comfortable win and new lap record of 21.75 from Angus in second.
Once again Torpy had a flying start in heat three from third on the grid to get past Brooklyn Brown and Cameron Robert before the first corner.
Le Cras, who has shown tremendous improvement during the second half of the series, battled his way to second place just ahead of Angus who had to settle for third.
Tension was high for the final with Torpy on pole and Angus alongside.
The local lad made the better start and led for five laps only to end up on the grass at the entry to the horseshoe after contact with Torpy who went through to take the lead.
Robert and Le Cras fought tirelessly for second and third places with Le Cras crossing the line just ahead for second place.
