NERINE netball club are not used to failure but they have started the new outdoor league season with a loss.
In the final of the handicap competition held over from the end of last season, they lost 72-64 to Guernsey Electric.
To be fair, Nerine faced a 56-goal handicap and therefore had to make the most of their scoring chances.
But they missed many while Guernsey Electric took their fewer chances and scored at every opportunity.
For the league campaign Nerine’s all-conquering side has been broken up and two teams of supposed equal strength created.
In week one Nerine Pink edged out Sarnians I by just three.
