ICE SKATING is coming back.
Eight years after Guernsey had a rink in the model yacht pond, a 25 x 14-metre rink will be put up in Market Square.
Former England rugby international and Dancing on Ice star Kyran Bracken announced the news on behalf of sponsors Sure yesterday.
The event will run from 12 December until 5 January.
‘Sure knew I was skating in Jersey and they said that Guernsey had to have one,’ said Mr Bracken.
‘At Christmas, it’s going to be special.
‘We are pretty excited. It will be great for the families of Guernsey.’
Mr Bracken said they were hoping to get a coach over to teach those using the rink.
He will also open the event on 11 December with his own show, Ice Party.
More than 100 people will be able to use the rink at one time. There will be entertainment and activities around the area while it is open.
