AS EXPECTED George Jennings (pictured) has won the West Coast Sea Angling Club’s summer league.
He swept into a considerable lead when the league started in April and retained that advantage right through the summer.
Not content with that domination he further consolidated his lead in September by landing four more qualifying fish to take his final tally to 19 species for 948.38%. His catches were a 9-3-2 bass, 2-8-4 trigger fish, 1-5-6 garfish and a 1-12-5 Couch’s sea bream.
A total of 14 qualifiers were entered during September, all by the top four in the league.
Rob Jennings, in second spot, had three, a 1-9-2 red gurnard, 1-4-0 garfish and a club record Couch’s sea bream of 3-6-5, to take his score up to 15 species and 669.82%.
Third-placed Mark Addlesee also had three, a club record trigger fish of 3-6-5, a 1-8-5 pout and a 2-8-11 black bream, to finish with 11 species and 554.67%.
Martin Mourant, in fourth spot, completed the catches with four qualifiers to take his total to 11 species for 468.91%. His fish were 1-11-5 trigger fish, 1-7-5 pout, 2-7-10 black bream and a 1-2-8 red gurnard.
