Guernsey 3, Berks & Bucks 6
THE Guernsey under-18s side ran hot and cold like an antique shower against Berks & Bucks and they paid the price for it.

After going 1-0 down in front of a disappointingly small crowd at the Corbet Field on Saturday, the Greens had a purple patch to go 3-1 up.

But 10 minutes into the second half they took their foot off the pedal as the visitors scored a staggering five goals to go through to the next round.

‘Hugely disappointing,’ said the Greens’ boss Paul Ockleford.

‘We switched off at too many places. We had a good 10 minutes at the start of the second half and then we switched off for 35.

‘We stopped doing all the simple things like putting the ball into places to make their team work. We gave them the momentum.

‘It’s disappointing, big time.’

Looks like several of them also played for their clubs the day before, which can’t have helped the Sunday performance !
