Bels out to make amends
Wednesday 21st October 2009, 2:29PM BST.
BELS are looking to get over their 7-5 defeat by North quickly when they meet Sylvans in the first round of the Stranger Cup tonight.
‘We need to put that behind us and move on,’ said Bels assistant coach Leighton Chainey (pictured)).
‘We need to defend a lot better than we did. Obviously, it was disappointing to let in seven.
‘Overall it wasn’t a great performance. They all know the mistakes they made and hopefully they can rectify them in the next game.’
Chainey said that they are only making one change from the side that lost to North as Matt Drillot is out injured.
Not only are Bels keen to move on from Friday, but Chainey said that they want the Stranger Cup silverware in their clubhouse come the end of the season.
‘It’d be nice to win it and it’d be nice to get through to the next round,’ he said.
‘But we’ve got some big games coming up as well and the league is more important. We’ve got a big game on Saturday against St Martin’s.’
