The youthful Panthers side of Matt Stubbington, Olly Langlois and Adam Langlois have recorded four straight victories to leave them two points clear of title rivals Lions A.
The Panthers side remained relatively untroubled in their opening three victories of the season, dispatching Whistlers B 7-3, Whistlers A 9-1 and two-man Specsavers 10-0.
Throughout these encounters there was to be only one defeat to the trio, as the three games picked up by Whistlers B were all victories over Panthers Second Division reserve Andy Langlois, standing in for the absent Adam Langlois.
The defeat itself was, though, quite a surprise and an excellent scalp for the experienced Mark Pipet, dispatching Olly Langlois in straight games.
For the Lions side, their start to the season was not as dominant, but they were still able to record a 7-3 victory over Whistlers B, a 6-4 victory over Whistlers A and a 9-1 drubbing of Specsavers to leave them poised on the same amount of points going into the vital encounter between the two sides.
