AFTER another successful year, the Tennerfest ends today. It was launched on Thursday 1 October.

Brown’s restaurant proprietors Dana and Mel Brown said customers had taken full advantage of their £10 three-course menu.

‘It’s a really good tradition at what would otherwise be a quiet time,’ said Mrs Brown.

‘Last year we were a new restaurant and it was an opportunity to get our name out there.

‘We have seen many of our usual customers this month, but also have seen some new faces, which is really good.’

The Tennerfest, which was launched by Hamilton Brooke in association with the Guernsey Press and Jersey Evening Post, is now in its 12th year. A total of 171 venues participated this year.

Mrs Brown said she looked forward to next year’s event.

‘It really is a fun time for us. We have had great feedback – it’s been fantastic for visitors because they have come here not knowing anything about it and have been able to try out different places.’

She estimated that they had sold 100 to 120 Tennerfest meals each day.

    I’ve had some great meals this tennerfest. Not all are at £10 but with inflation factored in they are still great value for money. I tend to go to places I haven’t previously visited and I’ve found some fantastic new places to eat which I intend to visit when the tennerfest is over.
    I would like to congratulate the organisers and all the places that have put this together as I and I’m sure many others have experienced some great food over the last month or so and long may it continue.

    Ms Osborne;

    The tennerfest is a brand name, and although a 3 course meal would have cost £10 TWELVE years ago, I think all of the menus are an absolute bargain!

    The fact that you had to pay £12.50 for two people would suggest that your comments are wildly ambiguous.

    Yes I would like to know where she paid £25 for a tennerfest meal maybe she had a lot to drink. 4 of us had an excellent meal at the Grande Mare and it was £58 with wine

    I think the tennerfest is brilliant. So what if there are not many places that are actually £10 anymore. It is still good value and a great excuse to socialise! Ms Osbourne perhaps mainland UK would be better suited for you. I belive you can get a £1 burger from McDonalds!
