TWO of London Two South-West’s in-form rugby teams collide this afternoon.

Fresh from their victory over Bognor at Foote’s Lane, Guernsey travel to face Effingham & Leatherhead looking for their third successive win.

Their hosts will be looking to go one better, though.

Having suffered four narrow defeats in their opening four fixtures, E&L have won three on the bounce.

In an extremely tight 12-team division, their 10th place is somewhat misleading as they are just four points – which equates to two wins – from the top two, Tottonians and Guildford.

Guernsey lie third, leading a pack of six teams who all have eight points, on points difference.

‘The squad are aware of how tight the league is this season and that can only be a good thing for us,’ said Guernsey captain Simon Sharrott.

‘We have to continue putting pressure on the two top teams and the way we can do that is to win our away games and not to rely on our home advantage.’
