IN THE OSA Mixed volleyball League, Provident Juniors 1 came up against Doyle Motors Bruisers who are arguably the favourites for their division as this season they have added Island Ladies player Sam Le Marquand (pictured) to their squad.

Their experience shone through in the first set with some concise three-touch.

The Juniors continue to build teamwork on Monday nights with some youngsters taking the court for the very first time, but are showing great promise in the shape of Ollie Brehaut and Ellie Le Messurier who are working hard in maintaining their court positions and produced some controlled play, particularly in the second set.

Although Bruisers did end up worthy winners, the GVA Junior Development team maintained their discipline and kept the score very close in the second set.

Coach Skipper said that they are a great bunch and if they stick at the basics the development of their individual and team game will improve.

Both Development teams are learning and receiving first-hand experience this season at officiating as well as playing and gaining respect from the other teams in their respective divisions.
