ELLIE REGNARD on Lulu led the way in classes one and two in her first time competing at La Carriere Stables’ winter jumping competition.

They gained first place in both classes with rapid jump-off rounds against the clock.

A hugely-improved Imogene Edwards took second place both times riding Angel.

Alisha Eiserberg rode Molly to third in class one but was just pipped by a whisker in class two by Becky Mann, riding Bella, who took just a tenth of a second off Eisenberg’s time.

The competitors riding off the leading rein in these two leading rein and trotters classes were at a slight disadvantage as it was a very tight jump-off course and they could not make the turns as tight without help.

However, Georgia Smale, riding Robin, and Amber Cherry, on Poppy, did a very good job and finished fifth and sixth respectively.

Having done so well in these classes, Giarda Borcelli, Anna Fazakerley and Cherry want to upgrade from classes one and two to two and three.

Caitlin Torode and Flymo gave Lydia Hardman, riding Daniel, a run for their money in class three, but just could not go that extra bit faster and it was Hardman and Daniel who had a deserved win, although they had to settle for second place in class four.

It was Lauren Domaille, riding her pony Casper, who pulled out all the stops and romped home nearly nine seconds faster.
